The Ethics Committees have approved the SWITCH trial for the Swiss sites Bern, Lugano, Geneva and Lucerne.
Regulary Approval in Switzerland
The Commission for promotion of young researchers of the Inselspital supports SWITCH. The proposal for SWITCH was submitted by Dr. med. Christian Fung, attending at the Inselspital Bern.
Inselspital supports SWITCH
In 2013 the Swiss Heart Foundation granted support for the SWITCH trial. The proposal was submitted by Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Beck, Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Inslespital Bern.
Swiss Heart Foundation supports SWITCH
The Swiss National Science Foundation granted support of the SWITCH trial for 3 years. The proposal was subbmited by PD Dr. med. Urs Fischer, Head of the Neurological division in the Emergency Department at the Inselspital Bern.
Swiss National Science Foundation supports SWITCH
The Swiss trial conducted in Bern and Geneva showed that the new treatment concept of decompressive craniectomy after intracerebral hemorrhage is feasible and safe. This trial showed promising effects with regards to mortality and outcome. (Fung et al. 2012)
